    Getting Started Model

I've downloaded the Brazil_Pens model, but when I render it, the pens are not white the way they are supposed to be.  How can I get the model that matches the Getting Started documentation?

Have you read all the PDF guide? It will tell you the steps you need to do.

Ok, I'm not sure I'm describing the problem correctly.

When I open the model and follow the directions:

Once open, click the blue render icon or type the command “Render” in the Rhino command line. All objects in the scene are white at this time and rendering the perspective view should produce the following default result.

    the result looks more like:

Since this is a tutorial to describe how to get started, shouldn't the example model look exactly like the unsuspecting newbie (USN) is told it will look?  Is there a model floating around that doesn't have the lights and/or materials and will render exactly like the first illustration when the USN presses the render button?

Actually, when I first tried it, my results were the same as the instructions were. I got the plain white rendering. Maybe you've played with the settings before you opened the tutorial, and the settings were not at default...? Just a guess.

Actually, scratch what I've just said. I just downloaded it again, and you are right. They don't follow the tutorial. I know I've tried it with a previous beta (I think it must've been b16), and in that time they were correct per the tutorial. I guess Brazil "improved" since... :-)

Oopss got it. The reason you don't see the correct result is because you downloaded the incorrect file. For whatever reason this tutorial was posted at two different places. You probably selected the "Documentation" link at the top menu.

Try this. at http://brazil.mcneel.com click on the "Downloads" button at the top menubar. Then select the link "Getting Started Guide/Brazil for Rhino" That should get you a zip file with a PDF and the correct Rhino file. That will work.

    Hi Guys,

I appreciate you both bringing this to my attention. I've replaced the link to match the downloads section and the correct pens file.

    Thanks again for your feedback!
